AS-Photonics is an independent company providing technical consulting services and training in the area of photonics, RISTRA OPO assemblies, SNLO free crystal nonlinear optics software, SNLFM fiber laser software, and a crystal nonlinear optics textbook. It is owned and run by Dr. Arlee V. Smith, who has more than 30 years of experience in photonics and fiber lasers and Jesse Smith, who has 10 years of experience developing numerical models and software for modeling nonlinear optics. AS-Photonics has been in business since 2008, and has completed major projects for over 25 clients including industry and government agencies.
We offer easy-to-use model suites that run on Windows and macOS computers. The models are valuable in education and in developing intuition, in exploring novel concepts, and in the quantitative design and optimization of nonlinear optical devices.
Currently offered models simulate frequency conversion of laser light in nonlinear crystals including opo, opa, opg, sum- and difference-frequency mixers. Our models calculate phase matching properties for over 60 nonlinear crystals. These models are used by thousands of researchers and designers worldwide.
Future offerings will include integrated thermal and nonlinear mixing models, crystal Raman laser models, fiber amplifier and laser models, and models of third-order effects in infrared materials.
